Guaifenesin W DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Guaifenesin W DM: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more many times than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.
Guaifenesin W DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Guaifenesin W DM Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this drug are found in breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Guaifenesin W DM pill interactions: Tell your pharmacist about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Guaifenesin W DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Guaifenesin W DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Guaifenesin W DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Guaifenesin W DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
