Ceftin Usage: this med is a cephalosporin antibiotic and is used to treat wide variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Ceftin: Shake container well before each dosing & take by mouth, usually twice per day or as directed by you're pharmacist. this medication must be taken with food. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine at the body is kept at a constant level. Do it by using drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to use this drug until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow and may result in relapse of infection.
Ceftin side effects: this medication can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting. If these effects persist or worsen, inform the pharmacist promptly. other side effects reported with this medication include headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches & strange taste at the mouth. Also, reoccurring fever, easy bruising or bleeding or persistent sore throat have been reported. Inform the doctor promptly if any of these effects occur. Though occurring rarely, seek immediate medical attention if you experience: seizures, jerky movements, severe drowsiness, yellowing about eyes or skin, dark urine, change in amount of urine. at the unlikely series an allergic reaction to this drug occurs, seek immediate healthcare attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or healthcare professional.
Ceftin Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially about: kidney disease, stomach or intestinal disorders, any drug allergies. Use of this pill for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Before using this medication, tell you're doctor if you are pregnant. it drug is excreted in to breast milk. Though they're have been no problems (to date) in nursing infants, consult you're pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Ceftin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every tablets you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: live vaccines, other antibiotics. it drug may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with youre physician. Diabetics should be aware this med may cause false positive urine glucose tests. talk to you're physician or physician about reliable ways to monitor blood glucose. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Ceftin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Ceftin special notes: this pill has been prescribed for this illness only. do not save this & use it later for other infection or give it to someone else. different tablet may be necessary.
If you missed Ceftin dose: If a dose is missed, use this as soon as remembered unless it is almost time since next dose. If it is nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose and resume the usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Ceftin Storage: After being mixed with water, it med must be stored between 36 to 77 degrees F (2 to 25 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. this drug may be refrigerated. Discard any unused portion after 10 days.
