Tussin Cough & Cold Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat a cough and relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tussin Cough & Cold: it medication is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting pills & capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase some your dose or take it more often than directed.
Tussin Cough & Cold side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre healthcare professional. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Tussin Cough & Cold Precautions: Tell your pharmacist you're medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any med allergies. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult some your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. this drug may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Tussin Cough & Cold medication interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription pills you use, especially: drug for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Tussin Cough & Cold Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Tussin Cough & Cold special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this pill. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Tussin Cough & Cold dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Tussin Cough & Cold Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
