    Guaifenesin with dextromethorphan - oral

    (gweye-fen-eh-sin with dex-trow-meth-or-fan)

    Siltussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination drug is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

    How to use Siltussin DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase youre dose or take this more much of times than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.

    Siltussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first few days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop any about these effects while taking it tablet: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this pill makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or pharmacist.

    Siltussin DM Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional some your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Siltussin DM drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or physician approval.

    Siltussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

    Siltussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

    If you missed Siltussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Siltussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
