Novolog Usage: Insulin aspart is used to treat diabetes mellitus. like another insulin products, this works by helping sugar (glucose) get into cells. However, insulin aspart is faster acting than other insulin but works for a shorter period about time. Insulin aspart is usually used in combination with medium or long-acting insulin product. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent heart disease, strokes, kidney disease, circulation problems, and blindness.

Before injecting each dose, clean injection site with rubbing alcohol. it is important to change location of the injection site daily to avoid developing problem areas under the skin (lipodystrophy). Because this insulin is fast-acting, not eating immediately after giving a dose of this insulin may lead to low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. Severe low blood sugar may result. this product may be mixed only with certain other insulin goods such as NPH insulin. Drinking alcohol may affect youre blood sugar level. Limit alcoholic beverages. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.
Novolog Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: unusually quick heartbeat, unusual sweating, shakiness, seizures.
