Ceftazidime Usage: Cephalosporins antibiotics used to treat a wide variety about bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections and urinary tract infections.
How to use Ceftazidime: Antibiotics work best when amount about medicine in your body is kept at constant level. this is done by administering the drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to use this med until the full prescribed clock is finished even if symptoms disappear after several days. Stopping medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of the infection. Before using, check the product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use it.
Ceftazidime side effects: An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: itching, swelling, dizziness, rash, trouble breathing. Report promptly: vomiting, severe stomach cramps, watery or bloody diarrhea, fever, unusual weakness, fast/pounding heartbeat. Unlikely but report promptly: yellowing eyes & skin, persistent sore throat, simple bruising or bleeding, change at amount of urine, seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Ceftazidime Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, liver problems, stomach problems, alcohol usage, allergies (especially allergies to penicillins, cephalosporins or other drugs). Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). it drug must be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. since small amounts about med appear in breast milk, consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Ceftazidime drug interactions: Tell your physician about every prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), live vaccines. Certain cephalosporins (your medication belongs to this class of drugs) can interact strongly with alcohol. don't drink alcohol while using this medication and since 72 hours after last dose has been injected. Consult some your physician or pharmacist of the medication prescribed for you & use of alcohol. it drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with youre doctor. If you are diabetic, use Clinistix or TesTape to test for sugar in your urine. do not use Clinitest meds because this med can cause false positive results. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Ceftazidime Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Ceftazidime special notes: Make sure needles, tubing & supplies stored safely & disposed of properly.
If you missed Ceftazidime dose: If you should miss a dose, use this as soon as remembered unless It's almost clock for the next dose. If it is nearly time for following dose, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Ceftazidime Storage: this med must be stored properly. Review storage instruction with your healthcare professional or doctor. Store dry powder vials at room temperature away from sunlight. money expiration time before using reconstituted solution.
