Panatuss Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and throat & itchy, watery eyes. it combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Panatuss: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. it tablet is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack.
Panatuss side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur the 1'st several days as you're body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Panatuss Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, allergies (especially drug allergies). check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. for small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Panatuss drug interactions: Tell youre physician of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain drugs (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking it pill. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Panatuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, drowsiness, abnormal tongue movement, slurred speech, or seizures.
Panatuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Panatuss dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time since the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Panatuss Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
