Purid Usage: it medication helps fluids to mix with the stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. It's used to treat constipation.

How to use Purid: Swallow capsules & meds whole with full glass of water or juice. the liquid & syrup forms must be given in 6 to 8 ounces of milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after first dose.

Purid side effects: this drug can cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid and syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre pharmacist. Notify your pharmacist if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives may cause dehydration & loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this drug. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.

Purid Precautions: do not take aspirin (unless prescribed by you're doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, don't take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any other nonprescription medication) without obtaining your doctor's advice.

Purid medication interactions: it drug is not recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell some your physician about all prescription and nonprescription med you may use, especially aspirin.

Purid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Purid special notes: Laxatives must only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses about water daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet, and exercise regularly.

If you missed Purid dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if Its almost clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Purid Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
