Warning: Methadone is to be taken by mouth only. it must not be injected. Methadone is synthetic narcotic. Patients who are physically dependent on narcotics will go through withdrawal syndrome if given the usual dose of narcotic antagonist (e.g., naloxone). If a narcotic antagonist must be given, the dose should be smaller than usual dose & it must be given with extreme care.

Methadone Intensol Usage: this is used since narcotic addiction. Methadone is potent narcotic substance. it may cause serious side effects & toxic reactions if used by someone other than human for whom It's prescribed. don't share it tablet with others.

How to use Methadone Intensol: Take this tablet only by mouth. To prevent upset stomach, take with food or milk. Take it as prescribed. do not increase your dose, take it more frequently or use it for longer period of clock without you're doctor's approval. Also, if used since long period about time at high doses, do not suddenly stop taking this with out 1st consulting some your physician. Methadone Intensol side effects: can cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea, & flushing first few days as your body adjusts to drug. If these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To minimize constipation, increase your intake of fiber, drink plenty of water, & exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. Ask your healthcare professional or pharmacist about stool softeners & laxatives. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: irregular heartbeats, anxiety, tremors, seizures. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek healthcare professional attention immediately. Methadone Intensol Precautions: Tell youre doctor you're medical history, especially about: stomach problems (e.g., colitis), substance abuse problems, allergies. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Alcoholic beverages may add to effects about this medication causing dizziness or drowsiness. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about use of alcohol. Caution is advised when using it drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of med. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Methadone Intensol drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription tablets you may be using, especially: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), psychiatric pills, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, zidovudine, rifampin, other narcotic pain relievers, barbiturates, cimetidine, anti-seizure drugs, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), alcohol. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or doctor approval.

Methadone Intensol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include cold & clammy skin, low body temperature, slowed breathing, slowed heartbeat, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, deep sleep, & loss of consciousness.

If you missed Methadone Intensol dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Methadone Intensol Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
