Irritant or stimulant laxatives - oral

Purge Usage: Irritant or stimulant laxatives are used to treat constipation and to clear intestine before rectal or bowel examinations.

How to use Purge: Take each dose with full glass about water or juice & drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Chewable tablets are to be chewed thoroughly. tablets to be swallowed whole with full glass of water. Wafers are to be chewed. Laxatives should not be used at persons experiencing stomach cramps, nausea or vomiting.

Purge side effects: it drug may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rectal irritation, stomach cramps or bloating. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you experience: rectal bleeding, rapid heart rate, weakness, dizziness, fainting, sweating, skin rash, unrelieved constipation. it drug may cause the urine to turn pink, red or brownish in color. do not be alarmed. It's not harmful. Prolonged, frequent or excessive use of laxatives may lead to dependency. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or doctor.

Purge Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially about: kidney disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, swelling (edema), any allergies (especially to tartrazine). Castor oil isnot recommended for use during pregnancy. Bulk producing laxatives an alternative. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. Consult your healthcare professional before using any medication while breast-feeding.

Purge drug interactions: Because laxatives may interfere with the absorption of some meds, it is important to tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take. Avoid use of dairy goods or antacids within one hour of taking bisacodyl pills. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.

Purge Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, weakness, lack of feeling alert, or dry gums & eyes.

Purge special notes: To maintain normal bowel habits, It's important to drink plenty of fluids (4 to 6 eight ounce glasses day), increase your intake of fiber & roughage & exercise regularly.

If you missed Purge dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
