Hm Tussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Hm Tussin DM: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. don't crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased.

Hm Tussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss about appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. Notify your physician if you develop any about these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Hm Tussin DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional some your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. for small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.

Hm Tussin DM drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.

Hm Tussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Hm Tussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Hm Tussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Hm Tussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in the bathroom.
