Pulmozyme Usage: this medication works in lungs to break up thick, sticky mucous that clogs airways. it helps improve breathing & reduces the risk of lung infections in persons with cystic fibrosis. this is used with other tablets & physical therapy in management of cystic fibrosis.
How to use Pulmozyme: this med is inhaled into lungs using special breathing machine called a nebulizer usually once or twice a day as prescribed. health care professional will demonstrate proper way to prepare drug & use the machine. do not increase your dose or take this more frequently than directed. you're condition will not improve faster but the chance for side effects will be increased. do not stop using this drug with out first consulting some your pharmacist.
Pulmozyme side effects: Laryngitis, hoarseness or dry throat may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop: unusual coughing or wheezing, rash, chest pain, irritation or redness of eyes, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Pulmozyme Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: other illnesses, any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with youre doctor. it is not known if it medication appears in breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Pulmozyme drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about any over-the-counter or prescription or medication you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Pulmozyme Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Pulmozyme special notes: To receive maximum benefit from this medication, Its important to know how to use the inhaler properly. Be sure you understand & follow directions closely.
If you missed Pulmozyme dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Pulmozyme Storage: Store the medication in refrigerator. don't store this in the bathroom. Properly discard of any unused drug after the expiration date on the label.
