Guaifenesin with phenylephrine - oral

common brand names: Amidal, Endal, Numonyl, Quindal, Sinupan
Lusonex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination tablet is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Lusonex: Take this medication by mouth. meds should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. do not increase dose or take it more many times or longer then prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Lusonex side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this med may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Lusonex Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk and benefits with your healthcare professional. Its not known if this med appears in breast milk; consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Lusonex drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, tablet for hypertension. Tell your doctor if you have, in last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.
Lusonex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness about fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Lusonex special notes: don't share it product with others.
If you missed Lusonex dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Lusonex Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
