    Guaifenesin with dextromethorphan - oral

    Ri Tussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. this combination med is used to treat a cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

    How to use Ri Tussin DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting meds must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.

    Ri Tussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first some days as some your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or pharmacist.

    Ri Tussin DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts of it medication are found in breast milk, consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Ri Tussin DM med interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine with out physician or doctor approval.

    Ri Tussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

    Ri Tussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

    If you missed Ri Tussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take this if it is near clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Ri Tussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store at the bathroom.
