    Phenothiazines - oral

    Simular Drugs : Perphenazine, Perphenazine

    Perphenazine Usage: it med is used to treat mental/emotional conditions. it is also used to treat nausea & vomiting & may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

    How to use Perphenazine: Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs unless directed otherwise by youre physician. youre dosage is based on your condition and response to tablet. Take it medication exactly as prescribed. do not increase you're dose or stop taking it tablet without first consulting youre doctor. in the treatment of mental or emotional conditions, it may take up to two weeks for full benefit to be noticed.

    Perphenazine side effects: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist. this tablet can cause dizziness & lightheadedness. To minimize these effects, get up slowly when rising from seated or lying position. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- love facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or another uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, skin rash/discoloration. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly: sore throat, unusual bleeding/bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though very unlikely to occur, notify your pharmacist immediately if you experience any of following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged/painful erection. in the unlikely chapter you have an allergic reaction to it med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.

    Perphenazine Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: very high or low blood pressure, liver or heart disease, Reye's syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders, any allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks that require alertness such as driving or operating machinery. Use of alcohol can cause extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol use. this med may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear a sunscreen and protective clothing when you are exposed to sun. this drug can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat stroke. Avoid strenuous work or exercise in hot weather. Elderly patients more sensitive to the effects of it medication. Use cautiously. children should be monitored closely while using this drug. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. Certain phenothiazines are known to be excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Perphenazine med interactions: Inform your doctor about all medications you use (both prescription and nonprescription) especially: anti-depressant/anti-anxiety meds, sparfloxacin, grepafloxacin, guanethidine, guanadrel, cisapride, metrizamide, cabergoline, lithium, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine), medications that help you sleep, muscle relaxants, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), any other meds that cause drowsiness. much about cough-and-cold products contain ingredients that may add drowsiness effect. Before using cough-and-cold medications, ask your pharmacist or pharmacist of safe use about those goods. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.

    Perphenazine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include, restlessness, confusion, excitement, weakness, fatigue, fainting, dizziness, rapid or irregular heartbeat, small pupil size, tremors, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, excessive drowsiness, very low body temperature, or seizures.

    Perphenazine special notes: do not share it medication with others.

    If you missed Perphenazine dose: If you miss dose and take 1 dose per day, take it as soon as remembered unless It's almost time for the following dose. in that case, skip missed dose & resume your usual schedule. If you take more then 1 dose daily, take it as soon as possible if it is within an hour or so of the missed dose. If not remembered within an hour, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Perphenazine Storage: Store below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from sunlight & moisture. do not store in bathroom. Keep out of reach of children.

    Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in medical emergency.
