Cefazolin Sodium Usage: Cephalosporins antibiotics used to treat wide variety of bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections & urinary tract infections.
How to use Cefazolin Sodium: Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. it is done by administering the pill in evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Continue to use this medication until the full prescribed time is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping drug too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting at relapse of infection. Before using, money the product visually for particles or discoloration. If ether is present, don't use it.
Cefazolin Sodium side effects: An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: itching, swelling, dizziness, rash, trouble breathing. Report promptly: vomiting, severe stomach cramps, watery or bloody diarrhea, fever, unusual weakness, fast/pounding heartbeat. Unlikely but report promptly: yellowing eyes and skin, persistent sore throat, simple bruising or bleeding, change at amount of urine, seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Cefazolin Sodium Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, liver problems, stomach problems, alcohol usage, allergies (especially allergies to penicillins, cephalosporins or other drugs). Use of it medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). this medication should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. since small amounts of the medication appear in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Cefazolin Sodium drug interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional about every prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially of: 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), live vaccines. Certain cephalosporins (your tablet belongs to this class of drugs) can interact strongly with alcohol. do not drink alcohol while using it medication & for 72 hours after last dose has been injected. Consult you're doctor or physician about the medication prescribed for you & use of alcohol. this drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with youre pharmacist. If you are diabetic, use Clinistix or TesTape to test for sugar in your urine. do not use Clinitest pills because this drug may cause false positive results. don't start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Cefazolin Sodium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Cefazolin Sodium special notes: Make sure needles, tubing & supplies stored safely & disposed of properly.
If you missed Cefazolin Sodium dose: If you must miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered unless It's almost time for next dose. If It's nearly time for the next dose, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose.
