Tussin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat a cough and relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Tussin: it pill is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting pills & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more many of times than directed.

Tussin side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre pharmacist. Notify you're physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Tussin Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any medication allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult youre doctor promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with some your physician. this med may be excreted into breast milk. Consult youre healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Tussin pill interactions: Tell your doctor of all prescription & nonprescription pills you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this med. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.

Tussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.

Tussin special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Tussin dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double the dose to catch up.

Tussin Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
