Decongestant - nasal spray
Coricidin Usage: this drug promotes nasal drainage & relieves nasal stuffiness. It's used to relieve symptoms associated with cold, hay fever, allergies, sinus infections and another related conditions. it is also used to relieve plugged ears.
How to use Coricidin: this drug is used at nose as directed. To apply nasal spray, first blow your nose to help improve penetration of medication. Keeping your head upright, place the nasal spray just inside nostril being careful not to touch container to inside of the nose. Squeeze container as you inhale deeply through your nose. Sniff hard some times to be sure medication reaches deep in to the nose. do not use it more many times than directed or increase you're dose. Therapy usually lasts since 3 to 5 days. Excessive use of this medication can actually increase nasal congestion.
Coricidin side effects: Stinging, burning, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, drying of nostrils, and altered taste may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre healthcare professional. Notify youre physician if you develop: rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness, trouble sleeping, shaking of hands, tremors, unusual weakness. this medication may cause dizziness. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Coricidin Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: heart problems, thyroid disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, seizure disorder, glaucoma, allergies (especially to sulfites). the elderly and children may be more susceptible to effects of this drug. Use this with caution. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your doctor. since small amounts of this pill are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Coricidin drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take especially of: high blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, cough-and-cold or allergy drugs. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Coricidin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, unconsciousness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or unusually fast heartbeat.
Coricidin special notes: there various nasal decongestants available, many with-out a prescription. Discuss with some your physician or doctor the best product for you.
If you missed Coricidin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Coricidin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom. do not share container with anyone else. Throw away container when the drug is no longer required.
