Novahistine Usage: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes & sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining & improve breathing.
How to use Novahistine: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug, unless you're doctor instructs you otherwise. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or are accompanied by high fever, notify youre doctor. do not increase the dose or take it more frequently than recommended. the suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.
Novahistine side effects: may cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irritability and dry mouth and nose. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to medication. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your physician if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. can cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly & be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.
Novahistine Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. do not drink alcoholic beverages. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. don't give this med to child younger than 6 years about age unless directed to do so by physician.
Novahistine med interactions: Tell you're doctor what medications you take, especially of: HBP drugs, anti-seizure meds, antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain drug, other cold or allergy medication. do not take this drug if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within last two weeks. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Novahistine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose in children may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.
Novahistine special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Novahistine dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Novahistine Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.
