Gastro Bismuth Usage: this drug is used to treat indigestion, nausea, diarrhea; to relieve stomach cramps & to prevent traveler's diarrhea.
How to use Gastro Bismuth: liquid form of this med must be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable meds must be chewed thoroughly or dissolved in mouth. Non-chewable tablets & caplets must be swallowed whole with a glass of water. the dose may be repeated every 30 minutes to one hour as needed but no more than 8 doses must be taken at a 24 hour period.
Gastro Bismuth side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Stools may appear gray-black in color while taking it med. don't be alarmed. this will disappear when drug is stopped. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Gastro Bismuth Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: another illnesses, allergies (especially med allergies). it tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. since small amounts of it tablet found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Gastro Bismuth drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take, including: aspirin, blood thinners, tetracycline antibiotics, drugs since diabetes, tablets for gout. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or healthcare professional approval.
Gastro Bismuth Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include ringing in ears, dizziness, confusion, and coma.
Gastro Bismuth special notes: If condition since which this was prescribed does not improve after two days or becomes worse or if fever is present, notify you're physician.
If you missed Gastro Bismuth dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Gastro Bismuth Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. liquid may be stored in the refrigerator to improve the taste, but it is not necessary. do not store in the bathroom.
