Fentuss Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever at a low-dose which suppresses cough. this combination medication is used to treat a cough & symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Fentuss: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase you're dose or take this more often then directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.
Fentuss side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur the 1st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, mental confusion, hallucinations, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Fentuss Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, emotional problems, history about drug dependency, allergies (especially pill allergies). Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it drug causes you to feel drowsy. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this pill are found at breast milk, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
Fentuss medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this pill. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Fentuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, & slow pulse.
Fentuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Fentuss dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if this is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Fentuss Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
