Tussid DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. it combination drug is used to treat a cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tussid DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase you're dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass about water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.
Tussid DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first several days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop any about these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're physician or physician.
Tussid DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional you're medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Tussid DM drug interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.
Tussid DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Tussid DM special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Tussid DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Tussid DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
