    Guaifenesin with codeine - oral

    Guaifen C Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Codeine is used to quiet a cough. this combination pill is used to control cough and congestion associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.

    How to use Guaifen C: Take this pill with food if stomach upset occurs. Take this drug as directed. do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. this is a strong cough drug & must only be used for condition and by human for which It's prescribed. this shouldn't be used since just any cough. It's helpful to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.

    Guaifen C side effects: Drowsiness, constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, dizziness or headache may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: skin rash, itching, rapid heart rate. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

    Guaifen C Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), substance abuse, allergies (especially to narcotics). Because this pill can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. since It's not known if it medication is found in breast milk; consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.

    Guaifen C drug interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping tablets, seizure drug, muscle relaxants, tablets for depression, cimetidine, quinidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Guaifen C Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold and clammy skin, dry mouth, & slow pulse.

    Guaifen C special notes: do not share this product with others.

    If you missed Guaifen C dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' doses.

    Guaifen C Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & heat. don't store in bathroom.
