Cefaclor Usage: this medication is cephalosporin antibiotic & is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Cefaclor: liquid suspension form of it drug must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in you're body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking the pill at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take this drug until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after some days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of the infection.
Cefaclor side effects: this drug can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting. Take with food or milk to minimize these effects. If they persist or become severe, inform your doctor promptly. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: fever, easy bleeding or bruising, change in the amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Cefaclor Precautions: Before taking it pill, tell youre pharmacist if you have: allergies (including penicillins, cephalosporins, or any other drug), kidney disease. Use about it tablet for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of pill. it tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. it isnot known if this medication is found in breast milk; consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Cefaclor drug interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: pills used for gout such as probenecid. this tablet may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods about birth control with youre pharmacist. this pill may cause false positive results in tests for sugar in urine. Diabetics should use Clinistix rather than Clinitest tablets. Blood sugar testing isn't affected. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Cefaclor Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
Cefaclor special notes: it medication has been prescribed for you're current condition only. do not use this later for another infection or give this to someone else. different med may be necessary.
If you missed Cefaclor dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless It's almost time for the next dose. If It's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Cefaclor Storage: Follow label warnings about whether or not to refrigerate. don't freeze. don't store at bathroom. Discard any unused portion after 14 days because the medication loses potency.
