Lufyllin Usage: this drug improves breathing by opening air passages in the lungs. It's used in the treatment of asthma, chronic bronchitis & emphysema.
How to use Lufyllin: this drug works best when taken on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after meals. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food. this drug works best if a constant level is maintained in the body. Do this by taking doses at evenly spaced intervals.
Lufyllin side effects: Dizziness, headache, lightheadedness, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, restlessness, nervousness, sleeplessness or increased urination may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your pharmacist. Inform you're doctor if you experience: chest pain, rapid or irregular heartbeat, confusion, severe stomach pain, breathing difficulties. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Lufyllin Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: heart disease, kidney problems, stomach or intestinal problems, any allergies you may have. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with youre doctor. Dyphylline is excreted into breast milk. Though they're have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Lufyllin medication interactions: Tell your physician of every medications you use (both prescription & nonprescription) especially about: mexiletine, probenecid, halothane (an anesthetic), dipyridamole, beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol, propranolol), another drugs used for breathing problems. Avoid drinking large amounts about beverages containing caffeine (coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts about chocolate. Caffeine can increase side effects of it medication. don't change your diet without first checking with some your doctor. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Lufyllin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include fast or irregular heartbeat, nausea or vomiting, unusual nervousness or restlessness, agitation, irritability, headache, and seizures.
Lufyllin special notes: don't share this tablet with others.
If you missed Lufyllin dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if It's almost time for next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Lufyllin Storage: Store in room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom. don't freeze liquid forms of it medication.
