Guaifen P Ephed HCL Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Pseudoephedrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. it combination med is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Guaifen P Ephed HCL: Take this drug by mouth. it should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew medication. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this drug as directed. do not increase the dose or take it more much of times or longer than prescribed. It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
Guaifen P Ephed HCL side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to the med. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because this drug can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Guaifen P Ephed HCL Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with some your doctor. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Guaifen P Ephed HCL drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication since depression, drug for high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in the last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or physician approval.
Guaifen P Ephed HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, quick or irregular heartbeat, & seizures.

If you missed Guaifen P Ephed HCL dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Guaifen P Ephed HCL Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in bathroom.
