Chromagen Forte Usage: Iron is an important mineral used by red blood cells to carry oxygen through the body. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) improves absorption about iron from stomach. this medication is used as dietary supplement to prevent or treat iron deficiency anemia.
How to use Chromagen Forte: this drug is usually taken once a day as directed. don't exceed recommended dosage. this med is best taken on an empty stomach, but may be taken with meals if stomach upset occurs. Take with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless some your pharmacist directs you otherwise. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this pill.
Chromagen Forte side effects: the majority of the people can take this medication with minimal or no side effects. Stomach upset may occur. Stools may appear darker in color due to iron. do not be alarmed. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Chromagen Forte Precautions: do not take ferrous sulfate (iron) without consulting healthcare professional if you have: ulcers, colitis, intestinal disease. it drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with some your doctor. this drug is excreted in to breast milk. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Chromagen Forte drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: chloramphenicol, penicillamine, methyldopa, levodopa, cimetidine, quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin). Avoid taking iron at the same clock as antacids or tetracycline antibiotics. Wait at least two hours between taking iron & an antacid or tetracycline. Eggs & milk decrease iron absorption. Coffee & tea that is drunk with meal or 1 hour after meal may also decrease iron absorption. Because ferrous sulfate can cause false results in tests for blood in the stools, tell the doctor or laboratory personnel that you take ferrous sulfate. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Chromagen Forte Overdose: Accidental overdose of iron-containing goods is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Chromagen Forte special notes: some iron goods contain vitamin C which is believed to increase iron absorption. there are much iron supplement products available. some canbe purchased with-out prescription. Consult your physician or pharmacist on the choice of a product best for you. this medication isnot substitute to proper diet. It's important to maintain well balanced diet. Foods rich in iron include beans, nuts, asparagus, oatmeal, red meat, dried peaches, & pork liver.
If you missed Chromagen Forte dose: Take missed dose as soon as you remember; don't take if it is almost clock for next dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Chromagen Forte Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in bathroom. Keep out of reach of children.
