Decongestant/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Notuss Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Notuss: Take it drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more many times than directed. this medication is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack.
Notuss side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1st few days as your body adjusts to med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Notuss Precautions: Tell youre physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history about medication dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this drug causes you to feel drowsy. money this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with youre pharmacist. since small amounts of it drug found in breast milk, consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Notuss drug interactions: Tell youre pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure medications, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Notuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Notuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Notuss dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if this is near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Notuss Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store at bathroom.
