Guaifed Pd Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Phenylephrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Guaifed Pd: Take this drug by mouth. pills should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this med as directed. do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. Its recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Guaifed Pd side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first several days as you're body adjusts to drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify you're healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this med can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate it effect. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Guaifed Pd Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risk & benefits with your doctor. It's not known if it tablet appears in breast milk; consult youre pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Guaifed Pd pill interactions: Tell you're physician about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, medication for high blood pressure. Tell your healthcare professional if you have, in the last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or doctor approval.
Guaifed Pd Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness of the fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Guaifed Pd special notes: don't share this product with others.
If you missed Guaifed Pd dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time since following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Guaifed Pd Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
