Decon E Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination pill is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Decon E: Take this medication by mouth. tablets must be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk. Take this drug as directed. do not increase dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Decon E side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the pill. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Decon E Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk & benefits with your pharmacist. it is not known if this drug appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Decon E medication interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, medication for HBP. Tell your healthcare professional if you have, in last 2 weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Decon E Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness of fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Decon E special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Decon E dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Decon E Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
