Decongestant/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Tuss HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tuss HC: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this drug is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Tuss HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur first several days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Tuss HC Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. USD this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this tablet must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. since small amounts of this med are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Tuss HC drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping meds, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Tuss HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Tuss HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it drug. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Tuss HC dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Tuss HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
