Guaifed Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Phenylephrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Guaifed: Take it drug by mouth. tablets must be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take it med as directed. don't increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. this is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Guaifed side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first few days as some your body adjusts to the drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because it medication can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate it effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.
Guaifed Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk and benefits with your healthcare professional. It's not known if this drug appears in breast milk; consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Guaifed medication interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, tablet since depression, medication for hypertension. Tell your physician if you have, in last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Guaifed Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, numbness of fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.
Guaifed special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Guaifed dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Guaifed Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
