Guaifed Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination tablet is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Guaifed: Take this medication by mouth. it should be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew medication. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. do not increase dose or take it more much times or longer than prescribed. Its recommended to drink plenty about fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Guaifed side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur first some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because it drug can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Guaifed Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. it isnot known if it medication appears at breast milk; consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
Guaifed med interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug since depression, drug for high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in the last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Guaifed Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, fast or irregular heartbeat, & seizures.
Guaifed special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Guaifed dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time since following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Guaifed Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
