Benzoyl peroxide - topical

Fostex Usage: Benzoyl peroxide is used to treat mild to moderate acne.
How to use Fostex: this drug is for topical use on the affected area only. Avoid using it in the eyes, mouth and nose, & on inflamed or damaged skin. the liquid wash or bar soap is used instead of soap one time or 2 times a day. Wet skin before applying this. Gently work up a lather and rinse thoroughly. do not scrub the skin. Creams, lotions or gels usually applied 1 time or 2 times day to affected area. a small amount is applied to the affected area & rubbed in gently. Pads: Wash the affected area of skin with a mild cleanser and water then dry it. next apply pad, usually 1 time or two times day to skin as directed.
Fostex side effects: Slight stinging, dryness & peeling may occur initially. Expect this. However, notify your healthcare professional if following effects occur: redness, irritation, scaly eruptions, rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Fostex Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially: other skin problems, any allergies. this medication may bleach hair & colored clothing. Avoid contact. Safe use about benzoyl peroxide in children under 12 years old has not been established. Benzoyl peroxide should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with some your doctor. it isn't known if it drug is excreted in to breast milk. Though there have no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Fostex drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of every medicines you may use, both prescription and nonprescription, especially: other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or physician approval.
Fostex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Fostex special notes: this drug is available in much about of forms such as lotion, cream, gel or cleanser and in various strengths (2.5% to 10%). some can be purchased without prescription. Discuss the various products with your physician or healthcare professional to determine best one for you.
If you missed Fostex dose: Use missed dose as soon as you remember and resume your regular dosing schedule.
Fostex Storage: Store between 59 and 76 degrees F (15 and 24.4 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight.
