Deconamine Usage: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes & sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining and improve breathing.
How to use Deconamine: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Its recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or are accompanied by high fever, notify your doctor. don't increase the dose or take this more frequently than recommended. suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.
Deconamine side effects: can cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irritability and dry mouth and nose. These effects must subside as your body adjusts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, inform youre pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. can cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly & be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Deconamine Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially about: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your doctor promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. do not drink alcoholic beverages. it tablet must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding. do not give it drug to children younger than six years of age unless directed to do so by doctor.
Deconamine drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist what meds you take, especially about: HBP pills, anti-seizure meds, antidepressants, sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain drug, another cold or allergy tablet. do not take this drug if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last two weeks. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Deconamine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose in kid may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.

If you missed Deconamine dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
