Lowsium Usage: Magaldrate is an antacid. it neutralizes & reduces stomach acid relieving heartburn & indigestion. It's used to treat an upset stomach, ulcers, hiatal hernia & other digestive disorders.

How to use Lowsium: Take this med as directed usually between meals & at bedtime. don't take more of it than prescribed. Too much antacid can actually increase amount about acid stomach produces. liquid form should be shaken well before pouring each dose. Chewable pills are to be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Follow with a glass of water. Non-chewable tablets must be swallowed whole followed with glass about water.

Lowsium side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Loss of appetite, diarrhea or constipation may occur. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: vomiting of coffee ground- like material, dark urine, tar-like stools. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.

Lowsium Precautions: Tell some your healthcare professional if you have: stomach disorders, kidney disease, allergies. this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. Consult your physician before using any medication while breast-feeding.

Lowsium med interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, especially of: iron, tetracycline, oral antidiabetic med, digoxin. Avoid taking any drug within 1 to two hours of taking an antacid. antacid may interfere with the absorption of medication. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Lowsium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Lowsium special notes: this drug is available in various forms: suspension, chewable tablets or swallow tablets. Ask youre doctor or pharmacist to help select the best product for you.

If you missed Lowsium dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Lowsium Storage: Store tablets & capsules in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. liquid form of this medication may be stored in the refrigerator to improve taste.
