Hm Antacid Usage: it is an antacid that works in the stomach to neutralize and reduce acid. Antacids are used to treat an upset stomach caused by heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach; to treat peptic ulcer, hiatal hernia or other conditions caused by an excess about stomach acid; & to prevent ulcers or bleeding from ulcers.
How to use Hm Antacid: Take this med as prescribed. Taking too many an antacid can reverse the effects & more acid will be secreted. in certain conditions, however, this may be necessary to take antacid as frequently as all 1 to two hours. To be effective, chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing followed by full glass of water. Shake liquid forms well before pouring each dose. do not take any other medication within 1 to 2 hours about taking an antacid. since antacids coat stomach, they can prevent other drugs from being absorbed properly if taken at same time.
Hm Antacid side effects: this med can cause nausea, loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea, weakness, or headache. If these symptoms persist or become severe, notify your healthcare professional. Notify youre physician if you notice black, tarry stools while taking this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or pharmacist.
Hm Antacid Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney problems.
Hm Antacid medication interactions: Tell your physician of every prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: tetracycline, ferrous sulfate (iron), meds used for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, indomethacin), digoxin, isoniazid, pseudoephedrine, diazepam, methenamine, ketoconazole. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Hm Antacid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dizziness, fatigue, weakness, severe nausea & vomiting, loss of appetite, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or loss about consciousness.
Hm Antacid special notes: Refrigerating liquid antacids may improve taste. do not freeze. If you dislike the taste of one antacid, chat to your healthcare professional or pharmacist about switching to a similar product. the liquid antacid forms work faster and are more effective than the another forms. However, chewable tablets may be more convenient.
If you missed Hm Antacid dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Hm Antacid Storage: Store pills, capsules & powdered forms at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store at the bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms of this med.
