Ibu Drops Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory med (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). this medication is used in children to reduce fever & to relieve minor aches & pain. it pill works by blocking the enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, & fever. do not give this pill to a children younger than six months of age unless directed to do so by the pharmacist.
How to use Ibu Drops: Shake bottle well before each dose. Measure out each dose carefully with the dropper provided. Give this medication by mouth with food or immediately after a meal as directed. Follow each dose with milk, juice, or formula. Keep child from lying down since at least 30 minutes after taking this drug. dosage is based on your child's weight, medical condition, and response to therapy. Read the product instructions to find appropriate dose for youre child's weight, or consult physician or doctor if you have questions. If repeat doses are needed, they usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by the healthcare professional. at certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before full benefits about this medication take effect. If you giving this drug to a children for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult pharmacist immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last for more then 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Ibu Drops side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify doctor or physician promptly. Tell doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Tell doctor immediately if any about these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell the doctor immediately if any about these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this drug may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from stomach or intestines. If you notice any of the following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop giving ibuprofen & consult the physician or pharmacist immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks love coffee grounds. it pill may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any of the following highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop giving ibuprofen and consult doctor or pharmacist immediately: yellowing eyes & skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact the physician or pharmacist.
Ibu Drops Precautions: this drug shouldn't be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult the physician or healthcare professional if youre child has: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Before using this drug, tell the doctor or pharmacist your child's medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, poorly controlled diabetes, stomach problems (e.g., bleeding, ulcers), heart disease (e.g., congestive heart failure), HBP, swelling (edema, fluid retention), dehydration, blood disorders (e.g., anemia), bleeding or clotting problems, asthma, growths in the nose (nasal polyps), history of an allergic reaction with symptoms about lip/tongue/throat swelling (angioedema), any allergies in addition to those listed above. this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake as it may intensify side effects of it med. it medication may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. this product may contain sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetes. Ask doctor or pharmacist about safe use of this product. Caution is advised when using it drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects of drug, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. this drug must be used only when clearly needed during 1st 6 months of pregnancy. It's not recommended for use during last 3 months about pregnancy due to the potential for fetal harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks & benefits with you're doctor. this medication passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Ibu Drops medication interactions: Before using this medication, tell the healthcare professional or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription products youre children may use, especially of: alendronate, other drugs for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, HBP medications (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). check every prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since much contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to it med. Ask pharmacist or doctor about the safe use about those products. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or doctor approval.
Ibu Drops Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.
Ibu Drops special notes: do not share it pill with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor your child's progress or cash for side effects. Consult physician for more details.
If you missed Ibu Drops dose: If you are prescribed this tablet on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') and you miss a dose, give this as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Ibu Drops Storage: Store at room temperature according to product directions away from light & moisture. do not store in bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children & pets.
