Tuss Ds Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Tuss Ds: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. it pill is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.
Tuss Ds side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1-st several days as you're body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit some your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify some your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Tuss Ds Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history about drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're physician promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre healthcare professional. for small amounts about this med are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Tuss Ds drug interactions: Tell youre pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping meds, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Tuss Ds Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or quick heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Tuss Ds special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Tuss Ds dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near the time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Tuss Ds Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
