Baltussin HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Baltussin HC: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase you're dose or take this more often then directed. this medication is best taken with a full glass about water after a meal or snack.
Baltussin HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, hypertension, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact some your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Baltussin HC Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history about drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Baltussin HC med interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure medications, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this med. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Baltussin HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or quick heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Baltussin HC special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this tablet. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Baltussin HC dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Baltussin HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
