Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Nortuss De Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Nortuss De: this med is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased. Take it medication as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more much times than directed.
Nortuss De side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or pharmacist.
Nortuss De Precautions: Tell you're physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any pill allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your doctor promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. it med should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your pharmacist. it drug may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Nortuss De drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about all prescription & nonprescription medications you use, especially: drug for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or doctor approval.
Nortuss De Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or quick heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, big pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Nortuss De special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this tablet. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Nortuss De dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Nortuss De Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
