Guaicon DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. it combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Guaicon DM: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase you're dose or take it more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting pills must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. don't crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased.

Guaicon DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first some days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your pharmacist if you develop any of these effects while taking it med: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or doctor.

Guaicon DM Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with some your physician. since small amounts of this pill are found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Guaicon DM medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Guaicon DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Guaicon DM special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking it drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Guaicon DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Guaicon DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
