Albumin Usage: Albumin is protein portion of the blood. It's important in maintaining blood volume. it is used in treatment of shock, burns or low blood protein to temporarily correct or prevent a blood volume deficiency.
How to use Albumin: this drug is administered by injection into a vein. the dose and frequency of use of this medication will be determined by your condition and response to therapy. Follow your doctor's instructions closely & be sure to ask any questions you may have about it therapy.
Albumin side effects: this drug is generally well tolerated. However, allergic reactions have been reported. Discontinue use & notify some your pharmacist if you experience any about following symptoms while taking it medication: fever, chills, flushing, hives, skin rash, itching, headache, nausea, breathing difficulty, rapid heart rate. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Albumin Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: heart disease, kidney disease, liver problems, blood disorders, anemia, allergies (especially to protein). this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're pharmacist. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Albumin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.
Albumin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Albumin special notes: Blood tests & other laboratory tests will be done frequently during therapy to monitor the effectiveness of this pill and to prevent side effects.
If you missed Albumin dose: It's important that each dose be used as directed. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Albumin Storage: Store this medication at room temperature as directed. do not use if this contains particles. bucks expiration date on label & properly discard of any unused medication after that time.
