Prehist D Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat and itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have a drying effect on mucous secretions. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Prehist D: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. it med is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack. Long-acting tablets and capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or long action may be destroyed and chance of side effects increased.

Prehist D side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose and eyes may occur the 1'st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, hypertension, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.

Tell your doctor if you take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety medications (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure pills (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this pill. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Prehist D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, quick breathing, fever, hot dry & flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

Prehist D special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it drug. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Prehist D dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Prehist D Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
