Fortaz Usage: Cephalosporins antibiotics used to treat wide variety about bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections and urinary tract infections.
How to use Fortaz: Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. this is done by administering medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to use it medication until the full prescribed time is finished even if symptoms disappear after several days. Stopping the med too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of infection. Before using, check the product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use it.
Fortaz side effects: An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare professional attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: itching, swelling, dizziness, rash, trouble breathing. Report promptly: vomiting, severe stomach cramps, watery or bloody diarrhea, fever, unusual weakness, fast/pounding heartbeat. Unlikely but report promptly: yellowing eyes & skin, persistent sore throat, easy bruising or bleeding, change at amount of urine, seizures. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Fortaz Precautions: Tell your physician youre medical history, especially of: kidney problems, liver problems, stomach problems, alcohol usage, allergies (especially allergies to penicillins, cephalosporins or another drugs). Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). it drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. since small amounts of drug appear in breast milk, consult some your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Fortaz medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription pills you may use, especially about: 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), live vaccines. Certain cephalosporins (your medication belongs to this class about drugs) can interact strongly with alcohol. do not drink alcohol while using this drug and for 72 hours after last dose has been injected. Consult youre doctor or doctor about medication prescribed since you and the use of alcohol. this med may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control meds. Discuss using other methods of birth control with some your pharmacist. If you are diabetic, use Clinistix or TesTape to test since sugar in your urine. do not use Clinitest pills because this drug can cause false positive results. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Fortaz Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Fortaz special notes: Make sure needles, tubing & supplies stored safely & disposed of properly.
If you missed Fortaz dose: If you should miss dose, use this as soon as remembered unless it is almost time since the next dose. If it is nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose.
Fortaz Storage: it drug must be stored properly. Review storage instruction with youre physician or doctor. Store dry powder vials at room temperature away from sunlight. cash expiration time before using reconstituted solution.
