Meperidine HCL Usage: this med is narcotic analgesic used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
How to use Meperidine HCL: Take it by mouth with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Because this medication is more effective for preventing pain than treating once it occurs, this is usually taken regularly for a short time. Use this med exactly as directed by your doctor. do not increase some your dose, use it more frequently or use it since longer period about time than prescribed because this drug can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period, do not suddenly stop using it drug with out you're doctor's approval. Over time, this drug may not work as well. Consult your healthcare professional if it medication isn't relieving pain sufficiently.
Meperidine HCL side effects: Stomach upset, blurred vision, drowsiness, constipation, dizziness or lightheadedness may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist immediately if you develop: rapid heart rate, fainting, mood changes, hallucinations, tremors, seizures. in unlikely chapter you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Meperidine HCL Precautions: Tell your physician you're medical history, especially of: asthma (or other breathing problems), kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, head injury, seizure disorder, depression, drug dependency, any drug allergies. Though to date, no harm has been noted to nursing infants, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Meperidine HCL drug interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), chlorpromazine, cimetidine. Tell some your physician if you take any drugs that make you drowsy, such as: antidepressants, tablet for seizures, sleeping tablets, other narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine), tranquilizers. Limit your intake of alcohol while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Meperidine HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include cold & clammy skin, low body temperature, slowed breathing, slowed heartbeat, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, deep sleep, & loss about consciousness.

If you missed Meperidine HCL dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Meperidine HCL Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
