Guaiatussin Usage: this medication is used to relieve a dry cough & helps to loosen phlegm and mucous in the lungs so you can 'cough-up' (expectorate) mucous.
How to use Guaiatussin: Take each dose of this drug with a full glass of water. Water will also help break-up mucous & clear congestion. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication, unless your healthcare professional instructs you otherwise. don't take this medication for a chronic, persistent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma unless directed by your physician. If cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, headache or rash, consult your doctor.
Guaiatussin side effects: this drug may cause stomach upset or rash. If these effects persist or worsen, inform you're physician. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or pharmacist.
Guaiatussin Precautions: If you have any of following health problems, consult some your pharmacist before using this pill: breathing problems such as emphysema/chronic bronchitis/asthma, smoking, any allergies. it pill should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. it isnt known if this medication is excreted at to breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Guaiatussin drug interactions: Tell you're physician of every the medicines you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially: other cough-and-cold medicines. Guaifenesin may affect results of certain lab tests. Be sure your caregivers aware you use it medicine before lab tests performed. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Guaiatussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, & unusually slow heartbeat.
Guaiatussin special notes: this drug comes in a variety about dose forms such as tablets, capsules, long acting tablets or capsules and syrup. Ask your pharmacist or physician to recommend the best product for you.
If you missed Guaiatussin dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Guaiatussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store at the bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms of this medication. do not store syrup at refrigerator.
