Exelon Usage: Rivastigmine is used to treat Alzheimer's disease.
How to use Exelon: Take it tablet by mouth, usually twice daily in morning & evening with food, or take as directed by your physician. the dose depends on your condition & your response to pill. If you stop taking rivastigmine for several days, consult youre physician or pharmacist before restarting the pill. your dosage should be reduced to minimize the chance of developing very severe vomiting. your dosage should than be increased gradually. Follow all you're doctor's dosing instructions exactly.
Exelon side effects: Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your pharmacist or doctor promptly. Tell you're doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: weight loss or loss of appetite. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusual sweating, weakness, chest pain, swelling, mental/mood changes. Tell you're pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but serious side effects occur: painful urination, change in amount of urine, black stools, seizures, unusually slow heart rate. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Exelon Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially of: stomach or intestinal problems (e.g., ulcers, bleeding), eating disorders (e.g., anorexia nervosa), heart problems (e.g., sick sinus syndrome), lung problems (e.g., asthma, obstructive pulmonary disease), seizures, urinary tract problems (e.g., obstruction), allergies (especially medication allergies). this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Avoid alcoholic beverages. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. it isnot known if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult you're pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Exelon med interactions: Tell your pharmacist about every prescription & nonprescription meds you may use, especially of: anticholinergic drugs (e.g., tolterodine, atropine, scopolamine, benztropine, diphenhydramine), NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen), succinylcholine, neostigmine, bethanechol. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Exelon Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe nausea, dizziness, weakness, increased sweating or salivation, trouble breathing, seizures, unusually slow heart rate.
Exelon special notes: don't share this drug with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., blood in feces) may be performed to monitor your progress.
If you missed Exelon dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up.
Exelon Storage: Store in room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
