Guaifenesin/decongestant/narcotic antitussive liquid - oral
De Chlor G Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. the decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. it combination drug is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use De Chlor G: this medication is best taken with, or after, a meal or snack. Take it drug as prescribed. do not increase you're dose or take this more often then directed.
De Chlor G side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur the 1-st some days as you're body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
De Chlor G Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history about tablet dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it medication causes you to feel drowsy. check it product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. it product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your physician. at least one of the ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
De Chlor G drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
De Chlor G Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
De Chlor G special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed De Chlor G dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
De Chlor G Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
