Histussin HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Histussin HC: Take this tablet as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this drug is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.

Histussin HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1'st several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre physician. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify youre healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or pharmacist.

Histussin HC Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, hypertension, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of medication dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Histussin HC pill interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain pill (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it med. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.

Histussin HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or quick heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.

Histussin HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Histussin HC dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Histussin HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
